Excited for The Show

Tonight, The Womacks get the opportunity to share a room in New London, CT with some  wonderfully talented friends, Chris Castle (obviously), Raise the Rent, and hopefully our new pals from Rhode Island, Kris Hansen and Jon Tierney. I think that is one of the greatest things about being out on the road, in that you run into others that play music and do it well/for living. We basically hit up an "after party" open-mic kind of thing over in Providence Rhode Island at a place called The Apartment. The place was absolutely gorgeous, Lea Moretti and the staff were absolutely wonderful, and on top of that there was some great tunes and noises, and even raps coming out of that place. Just a bunch of people happy to be alive, some drunk, some stoned, some straight, lots of hairdos, lots of smiles and lots of music.

I'm still kind of digesting that experience, and I'm sure I will know more about it in the coming days...my brain is a lot like my blog right now, BEHIND. Nothing a shower and coffee won't cure...

Noah's Funny

So the last week has been quite crazy exploring the New England grounds...lots of great venues and great people. We've been using New London, CT as the base of operations as usual when out this way. We have to thank dearly Carl Franklin and Daphne & Rich Martin for giving us places to crash, eat, drink, whatever... These are just two examples of the wonderful people of NLCT. If I made a list right now of all the sweet people in this city we'd be here awhile, and I probably wouldn't get the chance to tell you how funny it is when Noah sings AC/DC.

Number ONE- Noah does a lot of funny things, so it's not news to anyone that he's going to do something ridiculous. Tony and Haley are funny too...and not a one of them is as funny as "The Beat" but that's like saying "this bunny rabbit is smaller than that Ford Truck", it's simple math Folks!!! So back to Noah and how he's pretty funny but not as funny as me.

Number TWO- he's number two.... I'm funnier

Number THREE- When he sings AC/DC "Dirty Niece and The Thunder Chief" it comes pretty close to getting me sick cause I laugh so hard. I can't stress this enough

Number Four- I think we should all get on Facebook and tell Noah how funny he is, it might lift his spirits.

and finally number FIVE- I'm happy to laugh at his jokes, cause they're pretty funny

ask him to tell you about the instruments that AC/DC uses in their rock and roll...

Roch and Roll

Folks!!! Sitting in a coffee-house littered with art on the walls in Rochester, NY. Apologies to the folks that tried to tune in today to the WRUR Broadcast, as Castle put it...
"Communication Breakdown, it's always the same"...'Nuff said.
We ended up in the wrong place at pretty close to the right time, either way we're hanging Rochester hoping we run into someone that knew Cody Carlson from when he was a baby boy born in the great state of New York. The first few stops have been nothing short of spectacular... from seeing our old buddy Buddy Lindley, to the double header in Edinboro and Erie (Presque Isle), to the wonderful experience with the Hitt Family and Friends...couldn't have been a better start to the "tour".

We play the Abilene Bar & Lounge tonight, and with it being a off day for "entertainment" we can only hope that a few people stumble in and we can melt their faces. I liken it to Skittles, when I think about the idea of having no Skittles, it completely shreds my insides....when I think about having one Skittle, I feel better about the situation. SO, if a Skittle shows up tonight, there's a good chance that we will eat that very Skittle. If two, three, or ten Skittles show up....well then, we can then sort them out and see which flavors everyone likes, and then devour.

The gear situation has made it interesting, not completely terrible but interesting. We will obviously make it work for the next month or so, but I don't think any of us really fancy riding amongst thousands and thousands of dollars worth of gear. 150 extra miles to the tank w/o the trailer is completely awesome, I just hope no one falls apart physically, mainly me. I'm still waiting and hoping for the day that my head doesn't feel like it's going to fall off of my body. Anyone have an affordable tour bus they are looking to get rid of? or anything that will hold all of our gear and not sit three people across a bench seat in the back?... I know of 5 humans riding around in a van with a drumset, 4 guitar cases, a couple amps, 3 or 4 speakers, merch bin, Satya Sai Baba display stand, a couple of boxes of food, and gig bags and hardware a plenty. If you're one of the 14 people that might read this and you've gotten this far, you're asking yourself if your friends The Womacks and Mr. Chris Castle are insane...

Yes, Yes We Are. We're absolutely nuts! Look at it like this: We're so crazy and sometimes outright dumb, so you don't have to be... who's gonna ride around in a van where the three people in the back have butt-cheeks touching at all times? WE ARE! It makes a three hour ride to Rochester interesting... One Beatmaster Meat Sandwich coming right up! You want that on Heyman Bread? GOOD! Cause that's all we got!!!

ROCH 'N ROLL MY LITTLE BABY MUFFINS.

Don't forget, the "Beat" loves you...

   Sincerely Yours, BMP

Alright...

So here's the deal Folks!!! KO will not be joining the Womacks on the road for the Fall '11 stint. We've already had to answer some questions about the situation, so you're going to get the run down from the "Beat" so you know exactly what's going on and what to expect...

#1 and most important, Boykie has done nothing but help this thing from day one. Whether he was carrying an insane amount of gear at one time, or playing some horns, he brought a lot of wonderful things to the Womacks...mainly his personality and his love.

#2 We love the kid very much and just want him to be happy. He is our friend, our brother and some weird kind of mix between a lumberjack and a teddy bear. We want to wish him the best in whatever he does because we really love the shit out of that kid. I'm sure the Backseat Boykie Blog will give you the inside scoop when the KO Demos are done. Stay Tuned for that
